Longhu Mountain, located in Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province, is one of the birthplaces of Chinese Daoism and is revered as the "First Mountain of Daoism."

Historical Origins

During the Eastern Han Dynasty (circa 2nd century CE), Zhang Daoling, Celestial Master, one of the founders of Daoism, practiced alchemy and cultivated the Dao here, establishing the Zhengyi (Orthodox Unity) school of Daoism and initiating Longhu Mountain's 1,900-year transmission of Daoist teachings.

Since then, Longhu Mountain has been the sacred cultivation ground for successive Celestial Masters. 63 generations of Celestial Masters have passed down the lineage unbroken, making it the core ancestral court of the global Zhengyi Daoist tradition.

🏛️ Celestial Master's Mansion: A Thousand-Year Daoist Temple

The Celestial Master's Mansion, also known as "Sihan Tianshi Fu," is the place where successive Celestial Masters have practiced, transmitted teachings, and resided.

Status: The ancestral court of China's Zhengyi Daoist school, alongside Beijing's Baiyun Temple and Sichuan's Qingcheng Mountain, it is one of the three great sacred sites of Daoism.

The Celestial Master's Mansion houses scriptures handwritten by successive Celestial Masters, ritual implements, and talismans—living fossils of Daoist culture. The Daoist masters within are proficient in traditional Daoist rituals including talismanic arts, purification ceremonies, and alchemical practices, passing down ancient wisdom through the generations.

The tradition transmitted by Longhu Mountain's Celestial Master's Mansion is Zhengyi Daoism, also known as the "Talismanic School," renowned for its mastery of talismans, purification rites, exorcism, and blessings.
